1. What Are Premade Fans?

Premade fans are volume extensions formed into volume fans by a manufacturer (by hand or by machine), bonded at the base using glue or heat. Premades come sold in trays, attached in strips, ready to be applied onto clients’ natural lashes.

Pre-made fans are much easier and quicker to use than handmade fans. Premade fans are made in advance and sold ready to be used - simply peel a fan off the strip, dip into adhesive, and apply to the isolated natural lash. Many premade lash fans are made by machine but at SPEYELASH, they are handcrafted to ensure precision and premium quality standards every time.

You can purchase the lengths, curls, thicknesses, and number of lashes per fan that you desire and have them ready to go for volume clients. There’s much less margin for error and they’re a quick and easy way to get a consistent and uniform look.

Premade fans are created for lash artists who want to offer volume lashes but haven’t completed Russian volume training yet. They may also be used by lash artists who want to cut down their lashing time significantly.

A row of ultra-fine PBT threads are arranged on a lash tray and are combined at their base either by a small amount of glue or heat. They are then rolled into the desired curl, followed by heat-processing to retain the curl. The lash manufacturers then transfer the required amount of thread to the strip to open up the fans by hand. Finally, they are attached to a strip of adhesive and are shipped out neatly on a tray, along with rows of other premade lashes. Once delivered, the lash artist can dip and place it on individual and isolated eyelashes in the same way as a semi-permanent or classic lash. Although premade lash fans can consist of anywhere between 2 to 16 individual lashes to create the desired lash look, they don’t weigh down or damage the natural lash.

2. How to Choose the Right Premade Lash Fan

It is important to pick the appropriate premade lash fan for your client based on their desired final look. To achieve perfection, you need to first pick the right curl and favorable bonding method.

The usual range of premade volume fans is from 2D to 20D. This range may be exceeded to achieve a more dramatic look. The number of lashes used in the premade volume fans is denoted by the numerical value, while the D indicates the dimension. The diversity in the premade volume fans is to provide the lash artists with a range of options to meet even the most specific client requests.

Short Stem: Short stem premade fans have a shorter base, with a wider appearance. They are best for filling gaps in sparse natural lashes, resulting in a softer, fluffier look like that of handmade Russian volume fans.

Long Stem: Long stem premade fans have a long base and a dramatic, dense look that yields a black eyeliner effect. Just like Classic lashes, they are easier to apply, making them the best option for beginners or artists who have never used premade lashes before.

Pointy Base: The eyelashes' roots are bundled compactly. Its base has been bonded together strongly to form a sharp tapered end. This design provides convenience for lash artists and makes the extended lashes look thinner and more natural.
